This page gives a brief description on how to get started with Towny

What is Towny?

Towny is a land claim plugin that allows players to team up and work together in a town-like scenario. When you join the server for the first time you will start with $500. This is enough to start your town straight away for $300! For a guide on how to earn money, see this page.

Creating a Town

If you'd like to create your own town, you can do so by using the command /town new <town-name>. Be sure to come up with a creative name. Make sure that when you run this command, you are standing where you want your town to be. After your town is created you can then claim world chunks around it to expand your claimed area.

Prices

It will cost you $300 to create a town and claim the chunk you are standing in. Once you create a town, you can claim chunks around it by standing in it and typing /town claim. The cost of the claim will be shown on the scoreboard and will increase as your claim more chunks.

If you would like to claim land away from your town, you can claim an outpost with /town claim outpost. This will cost you $5,000 and you can only have 1 outpost.
