Server rules for MerlMC Season 3

MerlMC Staff reserve the right to mute, ban and IP-ban you, for any reason, without a reason given.

Spamming

Do not attempt to spam chat with messages, images or emojis. This includes encouraging others to do the same.

1st Offence: 3h Mute, 2nd Offence: 6h Mute, 3rd Offence: 1d Mute

Flooding

Do not use excessive capital letters, emojis, stickers, images, unicode characters or mentions/pings.

Toxicity

Do not be toxic towards other players or promote toxic behaviour.

Mental health

Do not joke about or mention things such as suicide, self-harm or other sensitive topics concerning mental health.

Discrimination

Do not discriminate or use racist, sexist, homophobic or derogatory language towards players.

Chat Filter Bypass

Do not attempt to bypass the chat filter. It is there for a reason!

Links

Do not post links to inappropriate content, IP grabbers, or malicious websites.

Advertising

Do not promote other servers, services, social media or anything not associated with Merl. If you have a Creator rank & you are streaming, you may advertise your stream every 5 minutes in chat.

Hacking

Do not attempt to DDoS, DOX or hack the server or a player. This includes using IP grabbers, posting personal photos, and IP addresses or sharing personal information.

Passive Bypass

Do not attempt to kill or damage someone in a PvP disabled area. This is anywhere in the world when a Saturday Skirmish is not ongoing. An example of this is placing a lava bucket on a player in the wilderness to try and kill them

Stream Sniping

You may not utilize a player's livestream, in order to have an unfair advantage, to conduct planned attacks or such on the player. The streamer has the right to report such occasions to the moderating team on the server. Given enough evidence provided, action may be taken against the offender and/or their accomplices.

Stolen accounts

Do not talk about, sell or use stolen or cracked Discord or Minecraft accounts.

1st Offence: 2d Mute, 2nd Offence: 7d Mute, 3rd Offence: Perm Mute

Alt accounts

You are only allowed to use one Minecraft Account on MerlMC! Create a ticket in the Discord server if you have a reason to have this raised Eg. Siblings.

1st Offence: The alt will be perm banned. Repeat offenses may result in punishments on the main account.

Griefing

Don't purposely make someone elses town look bad by building in the wilderness. For example, don't build walls around someone's claims to ruin the look of their build.

Bypassing bans

Using alternative accounts to bypass a ban, mute or other offence is not allowed!

1st Offence: Perm IP ban/mute on all your accounts

Botting

Controlling mass amounts of accounts for spamming or automating tasks like mining or farming isn't allowed.

1st Offence: 2d Ban, 2nd Offence: 7d Ban, 3rd Offence: Perm Ban

Clients

Using hack/cheat clients that modify your game is strictly forbidden. This includes clients like Wurst, Meteor, Aristois or other similar clients. PvP Clients like Lunar/Badlion Client are allowed.

1st Offence: 7d Ban, 2nd Offence: 30d Ban, 3rd Offence: Perm Ban

Faking Hacks

Faking hacks will result in the same punishment as hacking in the first place. “I was faking hacks” is not a valid excuse for an appeal.

Offence: You will receive the same treatment as a player using a real hacked client.

X-Ray

Using a texture pack, mod, client or exploit to x-ray is not allowed and will result in a ban.

1st Offence: 7d Ban, 2nd Offence: 30d Ban, 3rd Offence: Perm Ban

IRL Trades

You cannot trade real-life money for any in-game items.

1st Offence: 7d Ban, 2nd Offence: 14d Ban, 3rd Offence: Perm Ban

Auto clicker

Use of an auto clicker in PvP or to automate tasks is not allowed.

1st Offence: 7d Ban, 2nd Offence: 30d Ban, 3rd Offence: Perm Ban

Printer

Using schematica or litematica is allowed however, you may not use printer or any other similar mod/program.

1st Offence: 3d Ban, 2nd Offence: 7d Ban, 3rd Offence: 30d Ban

Exploits

Do not use or attempt to use any exploits to gain an advantage or abuse a bug. If you find a game-breaking bug, you can responsibly disclose it to be rewarded a bug bounty.

1st Offence: 3d Ban, 2nd Offence: 7d Ban, 3rd Offence: 30d Ban

Repetition

Being banned and/or muted for a day (or more) on 5 or more occasions can result in a more serious punishment. Depending on its severity, and context, the staff member can choose one of three punishments.

Option 1: 7d Mute + 3 day Ban, Option 2: 7d Ban, Option 3: Permanent Ban

Association

Associating yourself with cheaters may result in a ban.
